Information about the tonka bean
Use as an ingredient, especially in desserts. Also often used in perfumes, soaked in alcohol or as incense.
Use the nutmeg grater to rub fresh on dishes such as yogurt, muesli, rice pudding and pudding. Delicious over cappuccino or cocoa. Just give it a hint.
Great for baking e.g. in shortbread cookies and waffle dough, then grate a small tonka bean on 1 kg of dough.
Use just a little dose of Tonka even in jams!
When cooking, it is added where a sweet note is desired: apple red cabbage, pumpkin soup, sauerbraten. A hint of tonka bean in a dark sauce enhances the aroma very nicely.
Simply place the leftoverparts of tonka in a screw-top jar with sugar to get Tonka sugar.
